My name is Ulisses Araujo. I was born in Três Rios on March 6, 1960, and I currently live in Paraíba do Sul, both cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since preschool, when I was around 6 years old, I discovered my passion for drawing. My teachers soon noticed my innate talent, and my desire to create images grew stronger. Initially, I enjoyed caricaturing my classmates and teachers in class, which often resulted in punishments. Transforming human images into humorous art gave me a unique aesthetic pleasure. This creative energy continued to grow throughout elementary school, and by high school, I realized that my initial dream of studying dentistry was fading away. The production market and opportunities in the area of industrial design and advertising attracted me. It was at this time that I came across the American magazine MAD, known for its satirical humor. MAD impressed me with both its form and style, and this sparked in me the desire to pursue a career in publishing alongside my formal work. I collaborated with several Brazilian publishers, newspapers and magazines, honing my skills through drawing and painting courses with local artists. In addition, I participated in Humor Festivals in Brazil and abroad, winning awards and serving as a judge. Today, I am known as "Ulisses Caricaturista", a specialist in personal caricatures, and my passion for graphic humor remains strong.Read more
