I was born in 1963 and have lived since near Belfort, in northeastern France. Retirement, four decades of marriage, three children, and four granddaughters gave me the status of "old timer." I worked for 36 years as a programmer and IT project manager and I am therefore self-taught in art. I've however been doodling, painting, and sculpting since my childhood, and was already caricaturing teachers, classmates and colleagues. Things really took off artistically for my fifty years when my children offered me a graphic tablet for Christmas. To learn how to use it, I entered caricature competitions online, where I found inspiration and motivation and even won a few prizes. This allowed me to gain recognition and be invited to events where I met artists I admired, got to know others, learned from them, and experienced performing for an audience and drawing live. Caricature remains my preferred discipline because the rewards are commensurate with the challenge. Trying to capture the essence of a subject beyond the portrait itself, or eliciting amused reactions, is what I find so fascinating.Read more
