Antonio Guarene was born in Asti and he still lives there. He has taken part, and is present, in the most important graphic expositions both national and international where he has collected many prizes and recognitions by publishing his drawings which are characterised by his own personal, essential and unmistakable touch. He collaborates with ‘La Stampa’ newspaper with his own column called ‘Guarene’s Corner’. He is among the protagonists of the artistic and cultural life of his town. In 2011 Asti awarded him the title ‘Maestro of the Palio’ for his personal creation of the historic drape. He has always collected books of graphics of all nationalities, art, history, architecture of all periods and for 25 years he taught the students of the artistic lyceum of his town. He loves the cinema and the theatre - where he has had positive experiences in scenery designing - sport, with his past as an ex-footballer, but he only supports those who lose. Being sure that humourism and a smile are the only elements that light up our life, he hopes that his drawings arouse not only happiness, goodwill and amazement but above all intelligent thoughts.
