Political cartoonist, Comic artist, Illustrator, Mexican señorita. Cintia Bolio is the happy mother of Ivan and a self-taught artist. Author to several comic series like Puras Evas, Huesos, Album de Familia, and more. She is the pioneer in feminist view and gender issues, through her strong critic and humor, opening the discussion in a highly conservative country on themes like abortion, femicide, gender violence, discrimination, etc. Her work has been published in many newspapers and magazines in Mexico, US, Latinoamerica, Europe and Asia, and published in many collective comic compilations, essays, aswell as being part of collective exhibitions worldwide. In Mexico her work has been exhibited in solo shows in Museo de la Mujer –Women’s Museum- since 2012, and in collective shows in Museo Memoria y Tolerancia, Centro Cultural de España en Mexico, Museo del Estanquillo, Museo de la Caricatura, etc. Invited to design special comics about migrant children, climate change, gender issues, gmo’s, etc. by international organizations such as Unicef/UN, Unifem/UN, Oxfam and Greenpeace. Cintia Bolio is founding member of Cartooning for Peace, invited to represent Latinamerica at United Nations HQ – New York, 2006.Read more
