Hello! My name is Maria Picassó i Piquer and I have dedicated myself to illustration professionally for more than 10 years. My training in architecture and passion for the graphics of the last century have led me to develop a particular style of constructivist caricature that has been recognized internationally, participating as a speaker at conferences in Europe and the United States. You will find my illustrations in magazines, video games, books, clothes... and any medium that crosses your path. I currently publish regularly in the Spanish magazine ICON and the Swiss magazine Zwöelf. I have collaborated with El Diario, Ara, El Diario de las Américas, Círculo de Lectores, McGraw-Hill and Pearson, among others. Maria Picassó i Piquer is a Catalan artist born in Manresa in 1983, today based in Barcelona. She graduated in Architecture and soon left her job in an office to work as a full-time illustrator, her all-time vocation. We can find her illustration work around the world on a variety of supports, such as books, toys, gig posters or clothing collections. She's also been part of the design and illustration team of several video games from relevant franchises such as Star Trek and Game of Thrones. In the press field, her work appears periodically on Icon Magazine (El País) and Zwoëlf, a Swiss football magazine. She's also collaborated with Diari Ara, El Diario, Diario Montañés and El Diario de las Américas. Highly appraised in the caricature world, she combines her training in architecture and design with her love for observing and capturing human faces, distilling them down to their most recognisable essence. Her unique geometric caricature style, with art-déco and constructivist influences has brought her to various conventions in both Europe and USA as a guest speaker. Her latest project and first solo exhibition, "20 architects from the 20th century" is currently on tour in many Catalan cities. Read more
