Inventor of the flat sculpture (laughs), Jean Mulatier is French and lives in Paris. He is a caricaturist but also a comic strips artist, a photographer for the Gamma photo agency and a teacher for more than 15 years at the Emile Cohl school in Lyon, where he teaches the technique of caricature and accentuated drawing. In 1970, he published his first hyperrealistic caricatures in the newspaper Pilote where he was hired by its editor in chief René Goscinny (scenarist of Astérix). With his co-authors of this famous series, he published about fifteen albums. Sold to more than 450.000 copies, These Animals which govern us is the " beast-seller ". He has published AUTUMN with the New York publisher Rizzoli and with Thames & Hudson, a collection of more than 30 years of his photos of multicolored foliage in all the countries where this season is the most gorgeous, including Canada and Japan of course. Jean Mulatier has since its beginnings, committed comics, cartoons, illustrations, exhibitions, posters, ads ... His collective books of drawings have been prefaced by Peter Ustinov, Louis De Funès, Catherine Deneuve and… Sergio Leone (sic) ! "In caricature as in life, he asserts, the most important thing is to find what is the most important, and to give it priority! »Read more
